Choose from a two-day, 200 mile ride, our one-time only Anniversary distance 230 miles, or a single-day 100-mile option. The Ride for AIDS Chicago is Test Positive Aware Network's largest fundraiser and aims to raise vital unrestricted funds for TPAN and its Community Partners.
Riders completing 230 or 200 miles depart from Evanston's Chandler Park Saturday morning and ride through Chicago, into Indiana, and finally along the shores of Lake Michigan to reach Tower Hill Camp and Retreat in Sawyer, Michigan.
While the 200-mile participants are en route, the 100-mile participants will be shuttled with their bikes and gear to Tower Hill Camp and Retreat Center to ride on Sunday. After arriving at camp, grab a hot shower, switch into comfy clothes and meet with your friends and teammates for dinner. At this time in the day, you'll have free time to relax and hangout or take part in one of the planned activites for the evening.
The next morning, breakfast will begin early so that we can get a strong start to the day. All participants will return to Chicago on Sunday by traveling the day-1 route in reverse. Upon returning, family and friends will welcome us home at the one-of-a-kind Finale Festival. At the Finale Festival we will celebrate the achievements of all participants and volunteers with the parade of teams. We then take a moment to honor those we have lost with the Riderless Bike Procession. We'll hear from guest speakers and leaders from TPAN as another exciting year comes to a close.
In order to participate, Riders are required to make a minimum fundraising commitment of $1,000. In the event you are unable to Ride, due to injury or otherwise, you will still be required to raise a minimum of $500.
To participate as an official Crew member, it is suggested but not required, that you raise $500.
Unlike other rides of this kind, Ride for AIDS Chicago is committed to returning 100% of your pledges to the beneficiaries.
