"Never too old" - Brent Fisher's personal fund raising page
On September 8th and 9th, members of Windy City Cycling Club (WCCC), including me, will be riding 200 miles, across three states, with hundreds of other individuals as part of the 2018 Ride For Aids Chicago (RFAC).
Faced with funding cuts at the federal level, private support for organizations which provide HIV related services, like TPAN, is crucial. RFAC raises fund for TPAN so it can continue to provide essential services to those living with or confronting HIV. For example, $125 will help provide five HIV tests and pre- and post- counseling.
Through my participation in RFAC, I hope to continue raising awareness around AIDS/HIV (did you know that, according to the CDC, only 62% of those infected with HIV were receiving HIV medical care) to reduce the shame and stigma associated with HIV/AIDS and to honor the memories of friends who have died from AIDS.
Thank you for reading this far. I hope you will consider making a donation, in any amount, to either my personal fund raising effort or my team's joint effort. It's easy. Simply click on the "donate now" button on this page to make a tax-deductible donation (or on the WCCC page to support the team's effort). Your support genuinely means so much to me and those in the community who benefit from TPAN's services.
Our goal for this year is to reach $600k in fundraising! Every one of those dollars goes a long way. In 2017 TPAN provided 992 Chicagoans with compassionate, individualized care and services. Imagine what your participation will help TPAN achieve for 2018. $50 alone, covers the cost of 1 two-hour session with a licensed therapist.
We all have to start somewhere!
