You can help change people's lives!
On July 8th and 9th, I will be joining hundreds of other individuals riding 100 or 200 hundred miles in support of the 2017 Ride for AIDS Chicago.
I'm participating in this event to raise vital funds to support HIV services in the community. In addition, through my participation, and with your support we will continue to raise awareness around HIV in an effort to reduce the debilitating effects of shame and stigma associated with HIV/AIDS.
HIV/AIDS may not be a death sentence for most any more, but many folks have barriers that prevent them from accessing life saving care such as medications and mental health services. Funds raised go directly to client services through local organizations such as TPAN (Test Positive Aware Network). TPAN reaches out to those folks to provide holistic services that not only assist the individual but help significantly reduce the spread of HIV in our communities.
The months of training and preparing for this Ride is nothing compared to what people living with HIV go through on a daily basis. Thank you for supporting my efforts!
If you'd like to know more about why I ride, please feel free to ask me!
I'm committed... to be a catalyst for change in HIV/AIDS Community by raising vital funds for those living with or at risk for HIV while simultaneously fighting the shame and stigma associated with the disease.
